Vigilance Awareness Week (VAW) 2026 was observed at the BEML Corporate Office on 26 October 2026, with the participation of Shantanu Roy, Chairman and Managing Director (CMD); Dr. Sajid Farid Shapoo, IPS, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO); Functional Directors; and employees of the Corporate Office. The inaugural ceremony emphasised the promotion of transparency, accountability, integrity, and ethical conduct in all spheres of professional and personal life.
As part of the observance, the Integrity Pledge was administered to the dignitaries and employees, reaffirming their collective commitment to upholding the highest standards of probity, honesty, and professionalism in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
The messages of the President of India, the Prime Minister, the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), and other eminent dignitaries were read out and disseminated among the participants. These messages highlighted the importance of vigilance, ethical governance, the prevention of corruption, and the collective responsibility of every individual in building a transparent and accountable organisation.
As part of the inaugural ceremony, a kiosk was set up at the Corporate Office to facilitate employees in taking the Online Integrity Pledge, thereby encouraging wider participation in the nationwide initiative to promote integrity and ethical values.
In a symbolic gesture reflecting BEML’s commitment to fostering a culture of vigilance, sustainability, and social responsibility, all the dignitaries planted a beetroot guava tree as the Vigilance Tree.
