People’s Pulse: In Uttar Pradesh 62% online voters repose faith in Yogi, 32% in Akhilesh
Whispers In The Corridors carried out an online survey on its portal to gauge the people’s pulse in the biggest and politically sensitive state of India about who will make it as Chief Minister if assembly polls were to be held right now.
As the pot starts boiling in the political landscape of Uttar Pradesh in the run-up to the Assembly elections scheduled for the year 2027, Whispers In The Corridors carried out an online survey on its portal (www.whispersinthecorridors.com) to gauge the people’s pulse in the biggest and politically sensitive state of India about who will make it as Chief Minister if assembly polls were to be held right now.

The 48-hour online survey received about 352 responses from our surfers and it threw open startling results. Seeking a third term, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stands tall and leads the pack with about 61.7% voters affirming their support for him.
Giving a competition to BJP’s CM face Yogi Adityanath is the Samajwadi Party supremo Akhilesh Yadav. He has bagged the support of about 38% of poll participants who think he could make it as the next Chief Minister of the state.
Only one person voted for others without specifying whom.
UP has a total of 403 assembly seats that will go to polls next year and the major political parties have started groundwork to consolidate their positions. Though the Congress has not yet spelt out its strategy, it is likely to go to the poll arena with a consolidated and united opposition alliance against the BJP. Whatever the fate of the opposition alliance turns out to be, the Samajwadi Party will have a major stake and say in any such sort of alliance, if it decides to contest jointly with other parties.
Otherwise, like in the past the SP may contest on its own, given the widespread support it enjoys across the state.
For the BJP, looking to consolidate the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and rope in fringe regional satraps to its fold, the faith reposed in Yogi Adityanath will be music to its ears. Once the high-stakes political battle is over in UP, the results will also have a bearing on the broader political landscape of India as the Lok Sabha elections are due in 2029.
