Is the NC going to soften its stance on Article 370 in party constitution?

Seven years after the revocation of Article 370, the administrative and constitutional shifts in Jammu and Kashmir are impacting the ruling National Conference. To adapt to this new reality, the party is preparing to amend its constitution. A draft amendment is prepared and awaits approval from the executive committee. On Monday, NC President and former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah confirmed these impending changes following a meeting with elected MLAs and district officials in Srinagar. Crucially, sources indicate the party is likely to soften its stance on the restoration of Article 370. Instead, the National Conference will shift its primary political focus toward strongly advocating for the return of full statehood.
