Will Vivek Joshi be CEC when elections are held in 2029?

In normal course Dr Vivek Joshi should have been Chief Election Commission after the retirement of Gyanesh Kumar on January 26,2029. Now, after the recent row over EC functioning, a debate has started whether Joshi will become the Chief Election Commissioner or a new CEC will supervise the 2029 Lok Sabha polls. Josh’s tenure with the commission ends on May 20,2031. One can only wait and watch.
