Supreme Court—MHA deputation issue: Centre submits its report

The Centre has submitted its explanation concerning 46 IPS officers deputed to five CAPFs after the Supreme Court's May 2025 judgment directing progressive reduction of IPS deputation posts up to SAG level. The government's position, reported from the Home Secretary's affidavit, is that the 2025 direction did not constitute an absolute ban on fresh deputations and that the appointments followed the existing administrative mechanism and requisitions from the concerned forces.
