Prof. Saroj Kanta Barik is acting VC of NEHU

The Ministry of Education approved Prof. Saroj Kanta Barik, second senior-most professor, Dept of Botany, NEHU and fellow of multiple science academies; former Director CSIR-NBRI, as acting Vice-Chancellor of North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong. He assumes charge of the post after incumbent Prof. Prabha Shankar Shukla’s term ended on July 26 and will continue until a regular VC is appointed.
