Power clash over transfers in Karnataka

A power struggle has surfaced in Karnataka between CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. The latest dispute is over the transfer of five senior engineers from the PWD to the Water Resources Department (WRD). Shivakumar is upset, saying this was done without his consent, violating an earlier agreement that his approval would be needed for changes in his department. All the officers who have been shifted have held senior and strategic positions. Congress leadership is expected to step in soon to prevent further damage.

Does ‘Operation Sindoor’ divide Congress?

It seems the ‘Operation Sindoor’ has divided the Congress openly. According to analysts the old guard party has divided into two- the coterie leaders and G23 leaders. These leaders are accompanying the all party delegation to various countries and exposing Pakistan sponsored terrorism, justifying the Operation and abrogation of Article 370 from J&K. They also want India to reclaim the PoJ&K. But on the other side, the coterie leaders raising petty issues like how many fighter jets India lost, why the EAM informed Pakistan about the war, clarify Trump's claim that he played a major role to stop the war.
