Bureaucrats had an ulterior motive to violate the protocol by not receiving the Chief Justice of India B R Gavai upon his arrival at Mumbai airport?  Top bureaucrats were conspicuous by their absence as per protocol. It was the first visit of the Chief Justice of India to his home state after becoming Chief Justice of India.

Cong upset over Tharoor’s inclusion in delegation

The Modi government chose Shashi Tharoor to lead one of the teams of MPs visiting foreign countries to explain Operation Sindoor. Tharoor’s global experience makes this a smart move. However, Congress is unhappy because the government did not accept the names they suggested. Jairam Ramesh showed his displeasure, saying there is a big difference between being in the Congress and being truly loyal to it. During and after the conflict, the senior leadership of the Congress expressed views that diverged from mainstream and popular sentiment.
