Modi-Xi Bilateral Talks Slated for Opening Day of BRICS Summit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping are scheduled to hold bilateral talks on September 12, the opening day of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. The meeting marks Xi’s first visit to India in seven years, following their 2019 informal summit.
According to sources, discussions on the sidelines of the summit at Bharat Mandapam will focus on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), building on recent progress to ease border frictions. Broader economic concerns—including trade deficits, market access, and high-tech investment policies—are also high on the agenda. The high-level dialogue signals a concerted effort by both nations to manage differences and stabilize bilateral ties.
