ISRO scientist Dr CS Madhusudhana Conferred with Prestigious IETE Award 2026 UPDATED

Kolkata: Dr. C. S. Madhusudhana, Outstanding Scientist, U. R. Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), ISRO, has been conferred with the prestigious IETE – Shri Devi Singh Tyagi Memorial Award 2026 for his outstanding contribution to India’s space technology and strategic technological capabilities.

The prestigious award was presented to Dr. C. S. Madhusudhana on 25th September 2026 during the 69th Annual Convention of the Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) held in Kolkata. The award comprises a citation, medal and plaque.

Instituted in 2016 by Dr. R. K. Tyagi, former Chairman, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), in memory of his late father, Devi Singh Tyagi, the award recognises distinguished technocrats, scientists, engineers and academicians for outstanding contributions in the field of avionics and defence electronics that provide strategic and commercial advantages and contribute to the national campaign of ‘Make in India’.

Over the years, the award has established a distinguished legacy by recognising professionals associated with some of India’s leading scientific, technological, defence and academic institutions. The recipients have made significant contributions across areas including aerospace technology, defence electronics, military technology, avionics, image processing and strategic technological applications.

The IETE – Shri Devi Singh Tyagi Memorial Award was instituted with the vision of honouring individuals whose professional contributions advance India’s technological capabilities and strengthen the country’s pursuit of self-reliance in strategic and high-technology sectors.
