HUDCO promotes cleanliness through CSR initiatives
Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), under Special Campaign 6.0, has undertaken cleanliness, environmental and workplace improvement activities across its Corporate Office and regional offices, focusing on community welfare and sustainable practices.
A major initiative was carried out at the Institution for the Blind in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi, under HUDCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. More than 100 saplings were planted and flower pots placed across the campus to improve its green cover. Classrooms and boundary walls were also decorated with creative artwork.
The improvement work included replacing wired mesh in ground-floor windows, installing a new gate and developing a shaded parking area. The playground and other campus areas were cleared of waste and debris, while the temple terrace and adjoining walls were cleaned and painted.
HUDCO’s offices across the country also organised cleanliness drives, administered the Swachhta Pledge, collected plastic waste and conducted awareness activities. Old files, scrap, obsolete IT equipment and other unused materials were disposed of through authorised procedures to create organised, clutter-free workplaces.
As part of its employee welfare initiatives, HUDCO organised an eye check-up camp in collaboration with Centres for Sight Hospital for Swachhta Mitras, housekeeping staff, multi-tasking personnel and security workers. Through these activities, HUDCO aims to promote environmental responsibility, inclusive development, workplace efficiency and better health and hygiene practices.
