Delhi Police seeks extension of central-force deployment

The Delhi Police has sought the MHA to extend the deployment of 273 of the 301 CAPF companies sanctioned for the capital until October 20 citing anticipated protests and possible law-and-order concerns. The report said 28 of the additional 80 companies had not yet reported. This was a request for an extension, not confirmation that MHA had approved it.
