Bihar: Long leave by chiefs of 3 police organisations raise eyebrows

The Bihar bureaucracy is grappling with the reality of chiefs of three important police organisations proceeding on long leaves. Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar is on a 21-day leave, while Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) Chairperson Parmar Ravi Manubhai is away for 25 days and Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC) Chairperson K S Dwivedi has proceeded on a month-long leave. Further, the Government has made alternative arrangements for two of the organisations. Preeta Verma takes additional charge as acting DGP, while Harjot Kaur Bamhra assumes additional responsibility as BPSC Chairman. But no interim arrangement has yet been announced for BPSSC. Absence of chiefs of three important police institutions in Bihar’s administrative and police framework has raised many eyebrows.
