Whispersinthecorridors doing commendable job

Politics, as per the famous idiom, has always been the last refuge of a scoundrel. So morality can never go together with politics! I appreciate the freelancer website like 'Whispersinthecorridors' to raise issues like the relevance of IB when candidates are found with doubtful integrity after their Appointment by the Appointment committee of the Cabinet. This is happening in several instances, organisations like NHAI, even where the members are appointed who are not eligible and neither the search committee nor the IB could pin point despite records being available black and white. ACC should give certain stricture's in this regard.

Fake news and vulgarity getting more space

Concern has been expressed by several members of the civil society about content in visual form on different platforms, including films. It is driving people crazy. The bounds between good and bad stand merged. There is, however, a remedy for all the agitated minds to soothe their frayed nerves: it is also one of the "Rasa" in Indian Aesthetics. It is the "Vibhasta Ras". We don't have to close our eyes, but learn to enjoy it. In fact, it acts like catharsis, as too much of fake news and vulgarity is thrust down our throats under the genre entertainment, that even vibhasta is a welcome potion!

Decline of BHEL
In the recently conducted interviews for CMD and Director level positions, media reports say that external(to BHEL) candidates-one from Railways and another from NTPC have been selected. Of internal candidates, one has been shortlisted for CMD'S position and another for a Director's position. It is more than likely that Government may not accept the recommendation for CMD's position, citing lack of Board level experience, thus creating the opportunity for the entry of an outsider. When V Krishnamurthy the founder chairman of BHEL was asked about his many achievements as CMD of many PSUs, he stated that what gave him the greatest satisfaction was that more than twenty executives whom he had groomed in BHEL went on to head other PSUs. Today the wheel has turned full circle. Despite having more than 15 executive directors and some 120 General Managers it is unfortunate that outsiders have to be brought in at top levels. This deeply pains old timers and BHEL lifers such as this writer. The responsibility for this state of affairs rests squarely on the top leaders of the last two decades for their singular failure to establish, implement and maintain a robust HR process to identify, develop and groom future leaders for BHEL. What a decline for this once great PSU.

Final decision will be of people

There was a big upheaval in Maharashtra politics when Ajit Pawar along with his supporter MLAs joined Shinde government. What happened to the Shiv Sena a year ago has now happened to the NCP. But in a democracy the final decision is always taken by people. This is the strength of a democracy. Now it remains to be seen what will be the people’s verdict in Maharashtra when polls take place.

"Vote ki maya in Mayanagri"

Politics in Maharashtra has been the talk of discussion in power circles even before its last election of 2019.
Whether it was pre-election alliance or post- election result alliance, it has all the elements. In the span of 4 years, People of Maharashtra have witnessed four Chief Ministers and three Deputy Chief Ministers, just with the power of a single vote. Currently, it has more entertainment and suspense than a Bollywood movie, full of twists and unexpected turns, change of power, along with addition, subtraction, and change of MLAs just in a blink of eye.

Will Pilot, Gehlot ultimately reconcile

After the appointment of disgruntled Congress leader TS Singh Deo as Deputy CM in Chhattisgarh, speculations are being made that the party will take similar action in Rajasthan and there will finally be peace between Pilot and Gehlot. It is necessary if Congress wants to retain power. But there is much dissimilarity between the cases in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Singh Deo never crossed political limits, while Pilot openly rebelled against Gehlot and his party.

Obama attack on India will hit Democrats
Just like Corbyn shot Labour by Espousing Kashmir for Pakistan.
New Labour Head is bending backwards to Assure that Corbyn was a fool.
Democrats are distancing from Obama. Money talks
Just like Jewish Caucus, Indian American grouping of is rich and influential. Look at the way they funded the entire case in Supreme Court to overrule no merit admissions in Ivy league.

Web series and Health

The contents of Web series are a matter of concern for today's society. As the subject matter of web series is full of foul and abusive language, obscenity, aggression and violence as visuals stay in mind for a longer time and consequently affect the health of its viewer. In the name of freedom of expression, mental, emotional and physical health is under threat. So, viewers should be careful in their choice of web series as web series have a direct impact and affect on physical, emotional and mental health of its viewers.

There should be one fee rule for RTI

There should be only one fee rule for RTI irrespective of where the application is filed and to which organisation it is filed. The CIC has refrained from passing any order about the fee rules made by the NTA which is bad in law. The other participants in exams would continue to suffer from the charges levied by the NTA.

Policy makers must take corrective steps

Totally agree. Probably policy makers don’t understand the difference between development in hills and plains! They must take corrective steps without any delay else, Uttarakhand will be lost forever.

Modi's maiden US visit as PM

Modi's maiden visit to the US as Prime Minister was a significant event in the history of the bilateral relationship between India and the United States. The visit helped to strengthen ties between the two countries in a number of areas, including trade, investment, defense, and security. It also helped to boost India's image as a strong, self-reliant, and globally engaged nation.

Point of no return?

Rainy season has just started and we are getting news of cloud bursts, landslides, flash floods and people dying and suffering in Himalayan states. The Himalayas have been devastated to the point of no return. People living there are constantly at risk.

Opposition unity a distant dream

The Patna meeting can be considered a good start but real opposition unity is still far away. The real test of opposition unity will be when there will be talk of seat adjustment and claim for the post of prime minister. Real differences between the opposition parties will also come to the fore on these two issues. The Congress is already angry with Mamata Banerjee's statement that the Congress should field candidates only on those seats where it is strong. That is, Congress should keep about 200 seats with it and give the rest to regional parties. The Congress, buoyed by the victory of Himachal and Karnataka, will never agree to contest the Lok Sabha elections on only 200 seats.

Ashamed instead of being proud

Let me give here an extract from Ken Follet’s famous novel in the Winter Of The World: “Berlin 1933 The Ancient Egyptians built the pyramids when Germans were living in caves. Arabs ruled the world in the Middle Ages- the Muslims were doing algebra when German princes could not write their own names”. That was where European thinkers, writers, politicians were trapped in their world knowledge in the last century and were engaged in debates on democracy and available options that were to lead to the next world war. Obviously they had no idea of India then, buried under the debris of Socialism of Germany and Fascism of Italy over other problems of backwardness and poverty. They knew India and about India but ignored the fact that the Vedas preceded both the Egyptians and the Arabs, just like our secular brigades do today. Under the cursed belief of a flawed secularism many morons are trying to outdo them daily. They are India’s indigenous tribe of Storm Troopers, Brown Shirts (Red Shirts, White Shirts, Green Shirts, Yellow Shirts and other varieties of 75 years young India added competitively rather fast) who act like policemen as their party gives them the authority of auxiliary police men. Even then, Sarve Bhavantu Sukhino…
