Govt failed to privatise LIC owned IDBI Bank

True, specifically after Modi, govt failed to privatise LIC owned IDBI Bank in 2026 (due to the fact that both received bids were below the reserve price), it has started hiring experts from the private sector for executive director positions in 12 govt banks. This will reduce promotion aspects, for permanent employees of these 12 govt banks.

AAP not able to deliver
The fact is that AAP has not been able to deliver on its promises in Punjab and the law and order has worsened under their govt. The CM is a joke. So it is a very tough battle. The opposition has a very good chance to take advantage of the anti-incumbency.

Transfer in India

Frequent transfers in India, in any central/state government department or any public sector organization, often do more harm than good. While transfers are intended to ensure administrative neutrality and prevent the misuse of power, in practice they frequently disrupt efficiency, continuity, and accountability. One of the biggest drawbacks is the loss of institutional memory. When officers are transferred too often, they barely have enough time to understand local issues, let alone implement long-term solutions. Development projects get delayed or abandoned midway, as each new officer brings a different approach or set of priorities, which leads to inconsistency in governance and slows down progress. Transfers also negatively impact employees’ personal lives. Relocation every few years creates instability for families. Children’s education suffers, spouses struggle to maintain careers, and the constant adjustment to new environments leads to stress and reduced productivity. Instead of focusing fully on their responsibilities, employees are forced to manage repeated personal disruptions. Another serious concern is the misuse of transfers as a political tool. In many cases, transfers are not based on performance or administrative need but are influenced by political pressure or favouritism. Honest officers may be punished with sudden transfers, while compliant ones are rewarded with stable postings. This undermines meritocracy and discourages integrity in the system. Moreover, frequent transfers weaken accountability. When an officer knows they may not stay long in a position, there is less incentive to take ownership of long-term outcomes. Responsibility becomes diffused, and it becomes difficult to hold anyone accountable for failures. In conclusion, while transfers are sometimes necessary, excessive and arbitrary transfers in India create instability, reduce efficiency, and open the door to misuse. A more balanced and transparent transfer policy—with fixed tenures and clear criteria—would help improve governance and employee well-being.

Political and administrative leadership needed in Kerala
What Kerala needs is political and administrative leadership that is innovative and open to fresh ideas to attract investment, including asset monetization to unlock capital and ease the fiscal situation, fund raising, infra finance and global players. This is why it needs the new CM to encourage the bureaucracy led by the new Chief Secy to be forward looking with an investment perspective and national/international thinking

Keralam State needs spurt in development activities
Yes Keralam State which is ranked high in many social indexes needs spurt in development activities especially infrastructure, climate for good business etc. The Unionbaji is an utmost headache and it has to be tackled ruthlessly, otherwise no industry will survive here.

Make rules for consent by women officers
I agree, women officers face more difficulties when transferred. The government should look into this and make rules for consent by women officers for transfers particularly in the initial years of their service.

Foreigners to invest in India

India is good at getting foreigners to invest in India or come to India relying on fake carrots. Example the OCI card which looks like an Indian passport giving the false impression of de facto Indian citizenship. It’s even printed on the OCI "parvasi bhartiya nagarik" which translates to "Indian citizen residing abroad" when in reality OCI holders are "foreign citizens residing in India". The exact opposite. These foreigners have no rights in reality in India. The OCI was launched only to lure foreign nationals to invest in India. OCI is nowhere near a citizenship or even a permanent residence permit. It's a mere 'life long multiple entry visa". It's time India stopped the veiled hypocrisy even at bureaucratic/administrative levels and learned to call a spade a spade. Do not trap foreigners or foreign investments in India if India can't give them something back in fair exchange. And especially stop Indians from getting married to foreign nationals. Pass a law prohibiting that so that Indians can continue to inbreed.

Real technical problems

Chairman Mr Narainan has nothing to do with recent failures, those are real technical problems which need to be solved by Technical experts. It doesn't matter even if you bring back Somanthan. It's just a coincidence.

Real witch hunt begins
And now the real witch hunt begins. This is why nobody takes young leaders seriously and Chaddha just proved that right. To be tilted just for the sake of position and running mouth is gonna cost him in future.

Delhi incident

Another rape and murder has occurred in Delhi. The Delhi police has caught the perpetrator quickly. The law enforcement agencies have done an excellent job. There is one issue here, though. Why is it that heinous crimes are rising in the country? The reason is that nobody is afraid of the law. Why is this so? Society and the judiciary are too liberal. Crimes like theft are considered to be commonplace and let off very lightly by the criminal justice system. The criminal gets emboldened and commits more crimes. Some graduate to politics and become role models for others in society who feel that crime pays. Harsh punishment is not given. Bail is the norm. The accused have too many human rights. The possibility of reform is oft quoted as a ground for diluting punishment. All this liberalism is leading society nowhere. It is all misplaced. Due to all this, criminals get emboldened more and more and more and more people turn criminals. Persons accused of rape and murder are often let off citing juvenility. Loopholes are taken advantage of by the criminals. Death punishment is given in only the so-called "rarest of rare" cases. Sentences are diluted citing procedural delays or the possibility of reform of the criminals. Criminals serving life sentences are released citing good behaviour or some obscure provisions in the law after a few years. In this whole process, the victim is lost sight of. Will all the liberalism of society bring the dead girl back? An innocent life nipped in the bud by a criminal. What about her parents and family? The trauma they have will last their lifetimes. Misplaced sympathy for criminals is leading society nowhere, except leading to more and more horrendous crime. Perpetrators of heinous crime should be given a jury trial since judges have become inured to crime. For judges, crime is so commonplace that it has lost its horror. Bail should not be the norm. Enlarging heinous criminals upon bail should be done carefully. Harsh sentences should be the norm. A high security prison in the Lakshdweep islands should be constructed for perpetrators of heinous crimes like rape and murder and criminals sent there for life, never to return to society. All this liberalism and prison reform like open jails and what not are actually harmful for society and leading to severe increase in crime. What we need is zero tolerance for crime. Otherwise, society should be prepared for more and more crime and more and more pain. Does society want that only criminals should have rights and decent citizens continue suffering at the hands of criminals forever?

[12:30 pm, 25/4/2026] Harsha Bhatnagar: Pay parity
Pay parity for similar jobs is a common issue - whether private sector or public sector. In fact, within the government too, there would be different remuneration for similar job. It remains to be seen how the issue is resolved as it continues to crop up every now and then. Teaching is a noble profession, which should be given a special preference. There should be a minimum which should be paid for doing the job, irrespective of the classes a teacher teaches, or the gender or the sector in which the person is working. Teachers should be given a place of pride, not merely on the teacher's day.

Vice Admiral
In theory, any Vice Admiral holding an appointment of FOCinC or equivalent can be promoted to CNS. In practice. the senior most gets the job. An exception was Vice Admiral Bimal Verma who was CinC A&N command. Adm Karamvir Singh, though junior, was made CNS.

Rare year

It is a rare year where we see four change-of-commands. Vice Adm. Swaminathan as CNS (Navy), Lt Gen. Dhiraj Seth as COAS (Army). I don't know about the IAF but I think current VCAS Air Msgl. Nagesh Kapoor will be promoted. As for CDS, it's yet to be decisively known (but maybe Lt Gen. NS Subramani or Vice Adm. SJ Singh)

Key is Constitutional amendment

The problem is removing a Guarantee of proportional representation under the constitution has to replaced by amendment providing another guarantee for proportional representation the ratio of which has to be in the form of a constitutional amendment. Anything less than that will not satisfy the opposition. The key here is any constitutional amendment has to be ratified by a two third majority in both houses of Parliament unlike an ordinary bill which requires a simple majority. And there are anti women regressive parties like the samajwadi party that oppose any legislation under any circumstances

Delimitation exercise
What delimitation exercise was conducted under congress led UPA? The party that opposed women reservations for years when congress was in power suddenly cares about women. On one hand they are deleting voters calling them Bangladeshi and on the other side they are okay with using 2011 census.

Eligibility criteria for Politicians

Politicians should have eligible criteria like any other professional field. Some require minimum education qualifications while some need proficiency. When there are eligible criteria some kind of quality improvement is possible as education is the bridge of betterment and it is high time politicians should be under the eligibility criteria and earn their place beside voting by people .
