whispers in the corridors
Three books – ‘Kumbh’, ‘Garam Pahad’ and sindhi version of ‘Delhi ki Bulbul’, written by UP cadre IAS officer Dr. Anita Bhatnagar Jain, ACS, were released in New Delhi by Union HRD Minister, Ramesh Pokhariyayal ‘Nishank’ the other day.
Speaking on the occasion Nishank congratulated Dr. Anita for her wonderful writings and called her a unique personality who is balancing between her administrative work and creative work. Appreciating the sensitively written books, the HRD minister said that these books are not a product of the imagination of an armchair writer but have been creatively borne out of the real-life experiences of the author.
While the first book ‘Kumbh’, first Children’s storybook on Kumbh, aims to apprise children about our cultural and social values, second - ‘Garam Pahad’ is collection of 3 stories (‘Garam Pahad’, ‘Son Chiraiya Talab’ and ‘Polythene Ki Pralay’) on Environment, and the third one - ‘Dilli Ki Bulbul’ (Sindhi version) is a compilation of 10 Short Stories on Environment & Morality for Children.
In the book, the title story deals with ‘housing’ problems of birds residing in urban cities and is based on the premise that in this universe the Earth is home to birds, animals, plants and human beings. About 25,000 copies of the Hindi version of the book have been sold in nine States and some schools have even adopted it as a text book.
All three books authored by Dr. JaIn, popular writer of children’s books and travelogues, focus on environmental issues and topics like socio-cultural unity & cultural heritage in a very simple and interesting manner. She has over 40 publications including research papers, articles, Travelogues, Children’s stories and books to her credit
