In case Ajit Doval is relieved by the PM as NSA, the Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra may succeed Doval. A 1988 batch IFS officer, who is on extension, has served in the PMO. Although the name of Deputy NSA Pankaj Kumar is also in circulation, insiders rule it out. One source, however, said that Kwatra may go as Indian Envoy to the US.
