Kaun Banega Secretary General of Commonwealth ?

Ever since Kamlesh Sharma (IFS 1965) demitted the office of Secretary General of Commonwealth, the Commonwealth secretariat has been in a mess. His successor a British politician Baroness Patricia Janet Scotland has been accused of financial improprieties by the audit committee. She claims that she has enough support from African and Caribbean countries to get a second term but the Government of UK is opposing her candidature. India is the most important member of the 54-member commonwealth with 60% of its population. Ministry of External Affairs has not yet decided whether to weigh into the forthcoming controversial election. Sharma after his successful tenure as Secretary General of Commonwealth is now Chancellor of Queen’s University, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
