Prasanna Kumar Motupalli, Chairman and Managing Director of NLCIL has been conferred with Prestigious International Project Management Association (IPMA) Project Director (Level A) Certificate of competency for his commitment in executing various complex projects at the strategic level and for his exemplary leadership skills. The certificate was awarded to Prasanna Kumar Motupalli by Padmabhushan Dr. Sivathanu Pillai, President, PMA, India & Founder and Former MD, CEO of Brahmos Aerospace, in a function held at Yegneshwaran Auditorium, Learning & Development Centre, NLCIL on 18.01.2025. Functional Directors of NLCIL, Samir Swarup, M Venkatachalam, and Thiru Appakannu Govindarajan, Chief Vigilance Officer, NLCIL, participated in the event. T Srinivasan, Regional Director, PMA, India, and Senior Officials from NLCIL also graced the occasion. The International Project Management Association (IPMA) is a federation of around 70-member associations across the globe which provides qualification standards for individuals working in project, programme and portfolio management while the PMA level A certification is the highest internationally recognised level as project, programme and/or portfolio professional, recognised in over 70 countries. With this certification, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli has joined the elite band of around 500 people in the world and only forty people in India to acquire the coveted IPMA level A certification status.
In his address, NLCIL CMD, Prasanna Kumar Motupalli stressed upon the importance of Project Management in Industry today. He recalled his achieving of the “D” Level certification from IPMA 15 years back and recounted how the certification enabled him to execute challenging projects within short timelines efficiently. He exhorted all employees to get various levels of certification from IPMA to enable a positive transformation of the performance of the company. He also said that achieving the “A” level certification was a dream come true for him. Dedicating this achievement to NLCIL his present organization, the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited and NTPC where he worked earlier and his family members, he also expressed his thanks to IPMA.
Dr. Sivathanu Pillai, President, IPMA (India), made an impactful power point presentation on “Building a Sustainable Future for India” tracing the evolution of the Nation and the concepts of AI, Quantum transformation, Fusion Energy, Energy Security which would set the roadmap for India’s future. He lauded Prasanna Kumar Motupalli for his visionary leadership and innovative approaches that earned him the Level “A” certification from IPMA.
This Certification will benefit NLCIL in successfully executing various projects and will demonstrate the Company's commitment to excelling in project management. Such prestigious certification will help significantly in providing confidence to clients that the company can handle their business efficiently and cost-effectively.
As part of bringing young talents into the execution of present and future projects, 35 Executives from various Units of NLCIL were awarded IPMA "C" Level & "D" Level Certificates in Project Management at the event.
Such programs, followed worldwide, go a long way in promoting and spreading NLCIL's spirit of Project Excellence across industries in terms of project management, performance, approach, and results.
